Summer Adventures in London: 23/08/15

WARNING!, you may feel very hungry as I'm about to show you all the delicious food I ate on that day...

We decided to head out to China Town for Dim Sum after church session and we ended up at Dumplings' Legend, normally we would choose Golden Dragon as our first choice for Dim Sum in London but there were no spaces.

Here's my OOTD taken at church, you can see a peek of my older sister there, she got in the way and this was the only decent photo.

Jumpsuit: Miss Selfridge
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Cardigan: H&M

Those Singaporean noodles were so spicy, my eyes were watering after my first bite but I carried on eating it because it was that tasty and addictive!!

This makes miss Hong Kong :((
This is my favourite all time bubble tea place to go, the green tea and red bean slushy is the drink I always get from there and they always make it right.  The matcha flavour is strong and also this has red bean mixed in which adds extra sweetness to the drink! Random panda in the middle of China Town!
We gave our tummies a little rest..

We arranged to meet a friend and she took us to GBK after our church session, it has been too long!!
GBK stands for Gourmet Burger Kitchen, they serve many different kinds of burgers and they have now began to boarden the chip variety to include dishes like skinny fries, sweet potato  and chunk fries..

You have to try the milkshakes here!!, they are made with the finest ingredients, made with real ice cream and milk with added preferred flavour, in this case it was over.

When you download the GBK and you are a student, you will be able to receive 30% off your food bill, isn't that such a bargain!!
With downloading the app, there are rewards to be won with every order...
This is the end to this blog, hope you enjoyed staring at what I ate..

Spicy Avenue haul!

Hi guys, I recently ordered some clothes because I felt like it hahaaa

Here are the things I bought:

When I received my package I noticed the skirt I chose was not the one I chose when I ordered and initially I was very angry but then I found a handwritten note from the manager herself to say the skirt was out of stock so they replaced it with a different kind and I also received a voucher for my next purchase, they was really cute hhaha.

This is my first time ordering from this website and I think the clothing quality are pretty good for the price. Bear in mind most of the their clothing are one size but none the less they fit me perfectly. I am pleasantly surprised with how well the jeans fit me and the quality of them is similar to my TOPSHOP jeans. The only issue was the skirt, it flares out a lot but all can be amended with a few stitch ups here and there.
I will definitely order from this site again in the future and overall I am very happy with my order, thank you Spicy Avenue for your good service.

When you order over $99 worth of things, express shipping by DHL is totally free, the order comes in about a week so you don't even have to wait that long.

Enjoy the rest of your day my lovelies!

Kanada-ya: The best ramen bar in London!

After work, my sisters and I arranged to meet up in Central London to eat at Kanada-ya; a ramen bar situated near Tottenham Court Road station. Unfortunately, Kanada-ya do not accept bookings so we therefore arrived extra early at 6pm to queue up, but still there was a long queue and we were expected to wait for 45 minutes. However, our queuing period was cut short to 25 minutes as half of the people left the queue to eat opposite Kanada-ya where there was another ramen noodle restaurant called Ippudo.

To my surprise, the restaurant had lack of space and slightly claustrophobic to the extent where you would have to sit next to strangers, depending on where you sat. However, this did not ruin our eating experience and we received excellent service from the waiters.

The menu only consisted of three ramen dishes: Original Ramen, Moyashi Ramen, Chashu-Men

Add-ons included: Garlic sauce, red miso paste, egg, seaweed + more

Drinks: Hot Green Tea, Japanese Lemonade, Calpis, Ramune + more
When we ordered our dishes, we had to select which ramen dish we wanted and also how soft or hard we wanted the tonkotsu ramen (Extra firm, firm, regular or soft). I really admired the fact that this was an option to customers as it showed that the ramen would be cooked specially and according to one's preferences. In addition, you could order an extra portion of ramen if you had any remaining broth for £2.

I chose the 'Original Ramen' dish which is a 18hr pork bone broth and secret sauce topped with cha shu and wood ear fungus sprinkled with spring onions.
The dish was beautifully displayed with cha-shu decorating the outer area of the bowl, with the ramen in the centre (see photos below). The ramen was slightly bland but it complemented well with the broth. The flavour of the broth was intense and salty and the pork flavour really came through. Now, I understand why this restaurant is one of most highly-rated ramen places in London. To add to their reputation, they have branches in Hong Kong and Japan.

Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and the meal was well worth it's price and worth queuing for. The service was fast and the manager and staff were very friendly and calm despite the busy atmosphere.

Check out the restaurant in 64 St. Giles High Street, WC2H 8LE, London.

You will not regret it!

Outside queuing and it was raining heavily

Living London life on the edge: Breakfast for dinner and Sunday roast for lunch

Hi guys!

My sisters and I went on another trip to London at the weekend.

Below is a picture of a street near Bond Street in Central London.

A failed attempt of taking a OOTD :P

Attempt No.2 of my OOTD..

We took the Central Line and got off at Bond Street station to find the restaurant 'Galvin Bistrot de Luxe' where we booked a place to eat Sunday Roast for lunch.

We arrived at 12pm (when the restaurant opened). However, I didn't expect the restaurant to look so extravagant when I walked in.  I kid you not, there were about fifteen waiters standing around and we were the first customers.

At the start we were given a complimentary starter of soda bread and butter along with these mini cheese bites.  It tasted just like those cheese twists from Tesco supermarket, (just wanted to mention that). There were three dishes to choose from consisting of a choice of three types of meat such as turkey, chicken breast and beef.

I decided to choose the beef and have it cooked medium rare. In fact, we all chose the same exact dish as each other. But, I think the beef turned out to be a bit too rare for me so perhaps next time I won't choose medium rare if I eat beef in a restaurant again. Although, there were only two roast potatoes which I thought was not enough, they were the best potatoes on earth! On the menu, it mentioned that the chefs use duck fat to roast the potatoes in order to achieve a nice crispy outer layer.

This was horseradish cream in case you wanted some with the beef.

After eating our Sunday roast, we shopped in the area of Bond Street. It was mainly my sisters who needed to shop for clothes and we browsed in Topshop, Forever 21, Pull&Bear, Zara, Urban Outfitters and H&M.

Cute little restaurants down this road, reminds me of Paris.

During our shopping hours we stopped by a pop-up store in Soho called Cutter and Squidge.  They sell biskies (home-made sandwiched desserts, ice cream sundaes and all sorts of cakes.  Soho in Central London has many dessert places and this is one of many of them. This place was particularly special because of their signature biskies.  They had all sorts of flavours including green tea, lychee and red velvet. I wanted to try their raspberry biskie but that was sold out.

We asked what their most popular biskie flavour was and it was Chocolate and Salted Caramel and S'mores.

Ice cream sundae: Brownie and Salted Caramel

S'mores Biskie

Inside Canada Square shopping mall in Canary Wharf, where we walked through to get to our restaurant for dinner.

Next stop for dinner : The Breakfast Club

This is the menu..

Firstly, we wanted to order one of their smoothies but unfortunately they didn't have the exact fruits so we asked whether we could make a smoothie with lychee juice, strawberries and blueberries (the remaining fruit). It was BOMB!

Them pancakes thoooo!

Biju bubble tea house in Soho was our last stop.  I have to say the matcha drink was terrible. Just just no... But the popping mango balls in the drink were good. I will definitely not be visiting this place for bubble tea again :P -  I'll stick with my Chatime.
Here's a nice picture of it though....

This summer I will be adventuring in London more often.

Look out for some more blog posts! I hope this gives you an idea of what London is like and hopefully  it will give you some ideas on where to visit in London.

Thank you for reading this post - have a lovely summer :)
